Job Summary:
Mindlance is a national recruiting company partnering with leading employers in various sectors. They are seeking a Software Developer specializing in Business Intelligence to design, develop, and test reporting solutions and collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and test Business Objects universe and report solutions
• Author and publish reports, charts and dashboards in Tableau
• Write SQL queries to independently for data analysis, validate results of existing analytics
• Work with business users and technical staff to gather and refine requirements for reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc query environments
• Collaborate with data architects to develop effective data models and universe designs
• Collaborate with the offshore team, business and technical resources necessary to fulfill BI activities
• Perform code reviews
• Document reporting requests from business stakeholders
• Participate in the complete development lifecycle, including requirements, design, build, and test
• Adhere to and help refine our best practices and standards as they relate to reporting and analytics
• Evaluates Performance of databases and make recommendations for improvements / upgrades
Qualifications:
Required:
• BS degree in CS, Information Management, or related field
• Expert (5+ years) with Business Objects 4.x toolsets, including Designer/IDT, rich-client, and Web Intelligence
• 3 years in implementation of BI reporting solutions using Business Objects
• Must have full lifecycle project experience as a developer in designing and developing Business Objects on at least 3-4 projects
• Proficient in creating Business Objects dashboards, Reports and Repository development (Universe)
• Experience on scheduling reports
• Broad understanding of reporting technologies, including dashboards, scorecards and data visualization
• 3+ years of experience with SQL
• Proficiency in SQL to write and understand complex Teradata SQL statements
• At least 2-3 years working with data, SQL programming, and similar experience is required
• Experience in query tuning and storage design for high-performance data access
• Any of the following other databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server
• 1-2 yrs of Tableau reporting experience
• Experience in data warehousing and business intelligence
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with ability to interact positively with business and operational personnel
Preferred:
• Hands-on experience with an ETL tool like Informatica
• Proficiency with Business Objects installation and configuration
• Experience with the SAP BW 7.x on HANA or SAP BI Suite, including Lumira, Design Studio, Explorer, and Analysis for Office
• Experience with an analytic software application such as: Microsoft SQL Reporting Services, Cognos, Jasper Reports ..etc. not required but beneficial
• SAP Business Objects Certification
• HTML, JavaScript, Python or other programming languages
• Experience with data warehouse relational database design; cloud-based warehouse experience would be a plus
• Willingness to learn combined with ability to train and instruct others on the designed solutions
