Role: Senior Data Scientist
Location: Woodlawn, MD - Onsite / Locals Only


Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

Summary :-
We need a hands-on Senior Data Scientist with deep NLP and LLM/Generative AI experience to build and deploy automated data solutions, train and optimize NLP/LLM models, and support complex analytic work using Python, SQL, and cloud-native (AWS) tooling.

Must-Have Skills:-

  • Strong NLP experience: Python, NLP frameworks, SQL, Pandas, NLTK, spaCy
  • Generative AI / LLM experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities :-

  • Develop, test, and deploy NLP understanding techniques
  • Scalable ML/GenAI (LLM) development and deployment
  • Train/optimize NLP/LLM models; build Python-based pipelines
  • Build cloud-native solutions on AWS
  • Analyze trends and transactional data via SQL
  • Translate real-world/analytic problems into data solutions and recommendations
  • Collaborate with data collectors/analysts to close monitoring gaps
  • Deliver accurate, timely, sophisticated data analysis

Requirements :-

  • Bachelor's in Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, or Information Science (or equivalent industry experience)
  • 10+ years overall IT industry experience
  • Fluency in Python, Git, standard packages (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib), and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
  • AWS EC2 experience; Azure ML a plus
  • Experience with Spark/Airflow or similar data engineering/orchestration frameworks, and/or semantic search
  • Expert-level statistical/ML modeling (supervised and unsupervised)
  • MLOps/LLMOps and model deployment experience
  • GenAI/NLP libraries (regex, spaCy, LangChain), text annotation tools, semantic frameworks
  • Experience with DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop, flat files, and RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite)
  • Strong self-starter, able to work independently
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including communicating with executive leadership
  • Prior federal/state government IT project experience strongly preferred
