Job Summary:
Oklahoma State University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Computational Genetics within the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will lead computational efforts to analyze genomic variants and contribute to agricultural advancement and genetic resource management.
Responsibilities:
• Lead computational efforts to characterize the importance of genomic variants, including other features such as structural variants and variations at multi-omics level, for predictive analysis.
• Derive genomics-enabled solutions for agricultural advancement, tree improvement, and genetic resource management in the face of climate uncertainty.
• Receive mentorship and opportunities for professional development tailored to career goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Genetics, Computer Sciences, or related field.
• Strong programming skill in Python, R, or programming languages for large-scale data analysis with in-depth knowledge in genomics, transcriptomics, and multi-modal data integration
• Familiarity with genome assembly, annotation, transcriptomics, and variant identification, as well as computational methodologies such as optimization.
• Experience with Transformer and Representation Learning.
• Excellent communication skill, team collaboration abilities, and a passion for plant associative genomics and adaptation.
