PSYCHOLOGY TEACHING ASSISTANT

Division: CAS Department: Psychology Experience: Entry-level

Job Code:TBD Supervisor/Reports To: Dr. James Sapp

Start Date: 8/25/2026

Assist the Psychology department with clerical, academic, and research support duties. Maintain confidentiality, support projects, and provide classroom assistance as needed.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies:

  1. Maintain confidentiality including FERPA, be punctual, and communicate schedule changes in advance - L, P
  2. Provide clerical support including proofreading, photocopying, filing, and assigned projects - TW
  3. Use superior verbal and written communication, especially APA writing style - C, CTR
  4. Use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and compile data using software programs - T
  5. Assist with group and individual projects like data analysis and resource development - CT, C, TW, T
  6. Work independently and efficiently; guide students using available resources - CT, P
  7. Prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work inclusively - L, CTR
  8. Be available to assist in class as a TA, including monitoring exams - L, P
  9. Dress appropriately for the work environment - P
