Job description

Christensen Associates is looking for a full-time Data Analyst I to join our Madison, Wisconsin team. In this role, you will join a larger team of analysts to solve complex, real-world problems for a large logistics client.

Candidates must be willing and able to work in our Madison, Wisconsin office. This is not a remote position.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer. We are unable to sponsor individuals for a work visa or other employment authorization at time of hire or in the future (e.g., H-1B, green card, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and transform raw data into meaningful statistics, information, and explanations.
  • Clean, analyze, interpret, and display client data using different approaches and tools.
  • Troubleshoot data issues when they arise and find creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Learn one or more areas of our client’s operations and their corresponding data sets and use that knowledge to answer questions.
  • Assist senior team members in writing and reviewing reports.
  • Provide data to others to fulfill project requirements (e.g., cost models, pricing strategies, regulatory reporting, and/or productivity measurement reports).
  • Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer/data science, data analytics, economics, statistics, math, or similar with a history of strong academic performance. We are willing to consider December 2026 graduates, however, preference will be given to those who have graduated.
  • Analytically and technically minded with the aptitude, ability, and interest in solving complex problems and learning new things.
  • Knowledgeable in data analysis concepts (e.g., data cleaning, aggregation, visualization, etc.)
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (with intermediate knowledge of Excel) and software used for data manipulation (e.g., Python, SQL, SAS, or similar).
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), organizational skills, and a rigorous attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple competing priorities.
  • Successful completion of a federal security clearance including drug screen and background check is required.
