Job description

Position Summary:

The School of Business and Economics at Concordia University Irvine is seeking applicants for adjunct faculty positions in the Data Analytics Business field. The School is IACBE accredited and strives to develop wise and honorable citizens capable of excelling as witnesses of Christ through their various roles within the academic field and elsewhere. Pursuant to this mission, we seek faculty candidates who can articulate the interconnection between their Christian faith and their academic pursuits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Teaching MBA courses face-to-face, conducting office hours, and working with full-time faculty colleagues. MBA courses are generally taught once a week for seven weeks in the evening throughout the year.
Possible course topics encompass a range of data analytics and data analytics related topics from a business perspective teaching the deployment of analytical tools in identifying data needs, accessing data, organizing data and where possible storytelling through graphics.
Primary opportunities include face-to-face offerings in MBA Data Analytic courses such as MBA 608 Business Analytics, MBA 630A Big Data I, MBA 630B Big Data II, and MBA 611 Data Analytics on our Irvine campus where MBA students look to add to their understanding, applicability, and capability of data analytics in the business world rather than developing the competency of a Data Scientist.

Qualification Requirements:

Successful candidates must confess the Christian faith, demonstrate a commitment to a Lutheran liberal arts education, and have demonstrated teaching excellence.
Candidates must also have an earned doctorate or a master's degree in a relevant field with 3+ years of professional experience in the Business Data Analytics area.
Abreast of current industry practices, trends, tools in the data analytics field.
Knowledge of and ability to incorporate Python, Tableau, R, SQL, and Excel into classes.

Pay Range: $25–$30 per hour
