General Information:
The Inside Sales Intern - Export Markets supports the international sales team by assisting with customer communications, order tracking, technical support activities, and internal coordination. This is a part-time, paid internship designed for engineering students in the final stages of their degree who are looking to develop real-world skills in international commercial operations, technical sales, and customer support.
Interns will receive mentorship, system training, and exposure to Hitachi Energy's international business environment.
Tasks:
  • Assist Export Sales Account Managers with day-to-day support tasks including technical quotations, customer requests, and documentation.
  • Learn to use Hitachi Energy's internal tools (SAP, Salesforce.com, product configurators) to help process orders and track project milestones.
  • Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
  • Coordinate internally to help ensure on-time order fulfillment and timely customer communication.
  • Help compile sales and delivery reports for key export markets.
  • Join internal training and meetings to gain exposure to technical sales workflows and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
  • Strong interest in developing a career in technical sales, international business, or commercial engineering roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and contribute in a dynamic environment.

Preferred:
Familiarity with ERP (e.g., SAP) and/or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce.com) is a plus.
