Job Summary:
John W. Danforth Company, one of the largest mechanical contractors in the Northeast, is growing! As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization by designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and analytics-ready datasets.
Responsibilities:
• Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to support scalable data processing and integration across systems.
• Integrate data from internal and external sources while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and availability.
• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, including analytics-ready data layers for reporting and insights.
• Deliver clean, reliable datasets that enable self-service analytics and support business intelligence tools.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and monitoring to ensure data integrity.
• Support data governance initiatives, including metadata management, lineage, and compliance with security and regulatory standards.
• Optimize data pipelines, queries, and storage solutions to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, provide enhancements, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3–7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling concepts and techniques.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling).
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Spark, or similar.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
