JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job title and description: Instructional Student Assistant
This position will support a Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity project under faculty supervision. The student assistant will help with basic research tasks, project organization, and selected outreach activities.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with project-related research tasks under faculty supervision.
• Help collect, organize, and document project materials or data.
• Assist with basic testing, coding, prototyping, demonstrations, or other project-specific tasks as needed.
• Attend project meetings and provide progress updates.
• Help prepare project materials such as notes, summaries, figures, posters, or presentation slides.
• Support outreach activities related to the project, such as campus/community events.
• Communicate questions, progress, and challenges in a timely and professional manner.
Wage/Salary: $18.00
Hours per Week: 1-8 hours during Summer 2026 semester and 1-3 hours during Fall 2026-Spring 2027 semester

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Interest in research, creative activity, or community outreach related to the project area.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to learn new tools or methods as needed.
• Ability to work independently with guidance from the faculty mentor.
• Prior research or outreach experience is helpful but not required.
