Job Description
This Opportunity
The BIM Manager position will focus on Bentley products to create and manage detailed 3D models with Bentley software. They will provide technical design support for OPEN BUILDINGS and CADD, ensuring accurate designs and specifications for planning and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include overseeing CADD designs for multi-site construction projects, verifying that deliverables like reports, plans, and models reflect survey data and meet industry standards for quality and accuracy. This position is based in New York City.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create accurate 3D models of MEP systems in Bentley software per project specs.
  • Coordinate with engineers and architects to align models with requirements.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and the BIM Execution Plan.
  • Conduct clash detection and generate reports for coordination.
  • Produce 2D drawings from 3D models for construction documents.
  • Comply with all project BIM standards and protocols.
  • Maintain and update the BIM library and families.

Your Impact
  • Supervise work product compiled and drafted from the physical work site, surveys, structural concepts, blueprints, schematics, data, verbal or written specifications or technical drawings.
  • Coordinate 3D design and drafting (using Open Buildings - Bentley) work product and work closely with engineers and project managers to resolve design details or discrepancies, and to prepare drawings which require a high degree of precision on projects of moderate- to large-scale, complexity, and/or scope.
  • Oversee quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise CADD work, measurements, documentation, analysis, and portrayal of incoming and existent data.
  • Ensure standard practices to provide technical design assistance and guidance that accounts for the proper illustration, fit form, and function using geometric dimensioning, tolerance and quantity calculations, while ensuring the construction and maintainability of designs according to design standard specifications and code requirements.
  • Ability to anticipate and recognize issues related to own work.
  • Ability to gather appropriate resources to solve problems.
  • Self-educates and mentor other drafting staff, as well as engineers in BIM techniques.
  • Assists project/design managers by providing input on schedule and production tasks.
  • Believes in and champions the firms' core values and inspires others to do the same.
  • Understands overall project scope, the role of BIM team, and the roles of other disciplines for a project.
  • Demonstrates an intermediate level of written and verbal communication both internally and externally.
  • Experience monitoring and successfully managing time spent versus time allocated for task completion.
  • Understands basic firm financial terms and concepts
  • Champions model and drawing quality standards
  • Assists with managing the development and output of document sets for WSP engineering staff.
  • Performs Revit project setups and updates with some direction of engineering staff with some supervisory guidance.
  • Implement drawing organization for large, complex drawing packages across multiple companies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a closely related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • MTA experience (not required but highly preferred)
  • 5 to 10 years of proven experience as a BIM Modeller, with a focus on Bentley software solutions.
  • Technical proficiency with Bentley software platforms (including MicroStation, AECOsim, OpenBuildings Designer) and other BIM applications.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (New York): $110K-$150K
