Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team and contribute to our data-driven decision-making processes. The candidate will support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Power Platform team by developing, maintaining, and enhancing Power BI dashboards, improving the structure of Excel, SharePoint, and SQL databases that feed into the Power BI dashboards, and creating ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to facilitate the movement of data from legacy databases such as Excel and SharePoint to modernized databases such as SQL. The team’s current Power Platform solutions are utilized by 10,000+ users annually. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset coupled with experience in database management or data migration (ETL).

Requirements

  • Collect, clean, and organize data from various sources into Power BI dashboards to display actionable insights to leadership and identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
  • Perform detailed analysis of datasets using Excel and other analytical tools to derive actionable insights
  • Manage Excel, SharePoint, and SQL database structures that store data fed to the Power BI dashboards
  • Present findings and insights to key stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner, using Excel and Power BI
  • Extract, transform, and load data from legacy databases such as Excel, SharePoint, and Access Databases to modernized databases
