Summary
NCD is seeking a Data Analyst to join our growing Data team. This role is ideal for someone with strong SQL fundamentals, a sharp analytical mindset, and the desire to grow into a highly capable individual contributor across analytics, data modeling, BI reporting, and cross-functional problem solving. You will help turn business questions into trusted data assets, dashboards, reporting workflows, and actionable insights. You will work hands-on in BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran-fed datasets, Omni and/or Power BI, and increasingly with Claude and other AI tools to accelerate SQL development, documentation, QA, and stakeholder support. This is not a passive reporting role. We are looking for someone who wants to learn quickly, communicate clearly, solve real business problems, and help the company make better decisions with better data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain trusted reporting.
    • Create, maintain, and improve dashboards, reports, and recurring data outputs in Omni and/or Power BI for teams across Operations, Sales, Finance, Product, Member Experience, and leadership.
  • Write and validate SQL.
    • Use SQL in BigQuery to analyze data, investigate business questions, troubleshoot discrepancies, and create reliable datasets for reporting and decision-making.
  • Support dbt data modeling.
    • Build, test, document, and maintain dbt models under the guidance of more senior team members, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, reusability, and business trust.
  • Improve data quality and documentation.
    • Help define metrics, document data sources, identify inconsistencies, perform QA, and improve confidence in dashboards, models, and recurring reports.
  • Work with Fivetran-fed data.
    • Understand how source data flows into the warehouse, help monitor data freshness and completeness, and escalate or investigate pipeline-related issues when needed.
  • Partner with business teams.
    • Work cross-functionally to understand business needs, clarify requirements, translate questions into data tasks, and communicate findings in a way non-technical stakeholders can use.
  • Support operational analytics.
    • Assist with analysis involving billing, eligibility, carrier files, commissions, agent/member data, CRM data, cancellations, payments, and other operational datasets.
  • Use AI tools responsibly.
    • Use Claude and other AI tools to accelerate SQL drafting, documentation, QA checklists, data exploration, and workflow automation while applying strong judgment, validation, and care with sensitive information.
  • Identify process improvements.
    • Look for opportunities to reduce manual work, improve recurring reporting, standardize definitions, and make data easier for business teams to use.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must-Have Skills and Experience
  • Approximately 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, operations analytics, data operations, or a related field; equivalent demonstrated capability will also be considered.
  • Strong SQL fundamentals, including joins, aggregations, CTEs, window functions, and data validation techniques.
  • Comfort working with business stakeholders to clarify questions, gather requirements, and communicate findings.
  • Experience building or maintaining dashboards, reports, or recurring analytical outputs.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity, humility, and a growth mindset.
  • Proactive, solution-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse.
  • Exposure to dbt or interest in learning modern data modeling best practices.
  • Experience with Omni, Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Familiarity with Fivetran or other ETL/ELT tools.
  • Experience working with CRM, billing, payment, eligibility, commission, carrier, claims, member, or agent data.
  • Experience in insurance, healthcare, benefits, fintech, or another data-heavy regulated environment.
  • Intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
  • Python or scripting experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience using Claude, ChatGPT, or other AI tools to support analysis, SQL development, documentation, or QA.

What Success Looks Like in the First 90-180 Days
  • Within the first 90 days, you have learned NCD's core data sources, business terminology, reporting workflows, and data team operating rhythm. You are writing SQL confidently, supporting dashboards and reports, helping QA data outputs, and contributing useful documentation.
  • Within 180 days, you are independently owning well-scoped reporting and analysis projects, improving existing dashboards or dbt models, helping stakeholders answer recurring business questions faster, and identifying opportunities to make reporting cleaner, more accurate, and less manual.

NCD Benefits
  • Company-paid health, dental, life, and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Opportunity for professional development
  • Work from home allowance and support
  • Positive work environment
  • Remote, office-based flexibility within the United States of America
