Job description

The Commercial Analyst will be part of our summer intern program operating from June 2nd through August 1st. This role supports strategic decision-making by providing data-driven insights into sales performance, market trends, pricing strategies, and customer profitability. The ideal candidate will have a background in analytics and interest in finance/marketing. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.)

Essential Position Functions:

  • Analyze sales and margin performance across products, regions, and customer segments.
  • Develop and maintain commercial dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support sales and executive teams.
  • Provide pricing analysis and support pricing strategy development based on market intelligence and cost analysis.
  • Conduct customer and product profitability analysis to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Support business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes with reliable data and insights.
  • Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to align commercial strategies and execution.
  • Monitor market and competitor activity, generating reports to inform sales and marketing strategies.
  • Prepare business cases for new products, pricing initiatives, and strategic projects.
  • Assist in contract analysis and the commercial review of key customer agreements.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret financial data from Syspro ERP
  • Triage and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Map key costing, pricing and production processes to financial impact
  • Other Duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • In process of Undergraduate Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and other data analysis tools; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across functions.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying business opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English, for safe and effective performance of the job and business operations.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
