Job description

FRAME Technical Services, LLC seeks a qualified Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist for a position to be based in Richland, WA. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual who can work well on a team as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities Include:

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support identification and disposition of features identified through field walkdowns or

documentation review. Such as, historical research as well as GIS spatial analysis and field

verification.

  • Use Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) units to collect field GIS data, navigate to features, and utilize offsets during field collection for inspections, projects, and assessments.
  • Create maps using ESRI ArcGIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro) to be able to conduct tasks such as

spatial analysis, imagery georectification, and create features (e.g., points, lines, and polygons) for

use by various customers.

  • Use photogrammetry (e.g., Pix4Dmapper or similarly approved) software to process collected data

and imagery and create maps and other georeferenced products as needed.

  • Perform complex geospatial analyses to identify patterns, relationships, and trends in the data, producing 

comprehensive reports based on findings.

  • Process aerial imagery for use with GIS software including assisting with identifying, researching, and dispositioning unknown features observed in the field.
  • Create and organize GPS data (e.g., features, geodatabases, and metadata).
  • Work with engineers, surveyors, and other professionals to develop effective ways to represent and analyze 

spatial data.

  • Interface with personnel from client, customer, state and federal regulatory agencies, and stakeholder organizations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of GIS principles and methodologies
  • BS or MS in geography, environmental science, computer science, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience in related discipline
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; strong technical writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of ESRI technologies (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, QGIS, ArcObjects)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior Hanford Site or DOE/DoD experience
  • Familiarity with database programming languages such as SQL
