Job description

Description

The project manager has the primary role of providing the leadership, planning, organization, control, coordination, and direction of an individual or group of short-term and long-term constructions projects in order to meet the profit and growth objectives of Air Systems Service and Construction.

In this role, the project manager will meticulously direct day-to-day construction project management planning and execution processes to meet project design requirements, schedules, and organizational financial objectives. Responsibilities will include developing and managing project budgets, creating detailed schedules, and overseeing resource allocation to ensure optimal execution. The project manager uses comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and operations to set project productivity and quality targets, monitors all project milestones, changes, and technical status reports. Duties include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and managing all phases of construction projects, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Establishing project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and ensuring alignment with client requirements.
  • Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Liaising with engineers, contractors and subcontractors to monitor construction progress, resolve issues and ensure ย ย ย ย ย compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Managing procurement processes, including bid evaluations, contract negotiations and vendor selection.
  • Oversee project budgeting, cost control, and manage change orders to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Conducting regular site inspections to assess project progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and ย ย ย ย ย regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members and stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns and foster strong working relationships.ย 

Respond to escalated project issues that may impede project delivery and coordinates solutions and analyzing project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future project.ย 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferable in construction management or related field
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated project management in commercial construction or a related field
  • Previous experience project management software: Autodesk Build or MS Project, preferred
  • A PMP certification is preferred
