Job Description

The Associate Business Process Improvement Analyst will support manufacturing and business process improvement initiatives focused on increasing operational efficiency, productivity, process flow, and overall performance within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, perform, and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Perform time studies and line-balancing analyses to identify opportunities to improve productivity, capacity, and manufacturing flow.
  • Analyze and document existing manufacturing and business processes.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and flow acceleration initiatives.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing layouts to improve workflow, material movement, personnel flow, and ergonomics.
  • Perform Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify waste, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to identify root causes of process performance issues.
  • Develop metrics and performance indicators to measure process effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Measure performance against established process requirements and address performance gaps.
  • Support cross-functional teams in the implementation of process improvement projects.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses for proposed process changes and improvement initiatives.
  • Research and evaluate best practices, techniques, and processes.
  • Prepare and communicate project progress, findings, recommendations, and results to internal stakeholders.
  • Support presentations and training related to process measurement, analysis, improvement, and control.
  • Ensure process improvement activities align with applicable procedures and requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Optimize production line balance and resource utilization.
  • Identify and eliminate process waste and bottlenecks.
  • Improve manufacturing layouts, ergonomics, and workflow.
  • Establish measurable performance indicators to support continuous improvement.
  • Implement sustainable, data-driven process improvements.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to work 100% on-site in Villalba, Puerto Rico.
  • Knowledge and/or hands-on experience performing time studies and line balancing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience or knowledge in:
    • Time Studies
    • Line Balancing
    • Lean Manufacturing
    • Flow Acceleration
    • Ergonomics
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
    • Manufacturing Layout Creation and Optimization
    • Process Mapping and Analysis
    • Data Collection and Analysis

  • Ability to analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience or exposure within regulated industries, preferably medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience developing process metrics and performance indicators.
  • Experience with manufacturing capacity, productivity, workflow, and layout improvement projects.
  • Internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience involving Industrial Engineering and continuous improvement activities is highly desirable.
