Job description

Westchester Plastics, LLC in Nesquehoning PA, is currently seeking an intern to join their team.


Position Description:
The Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting, developing and improving the current manufacturing processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience with extrusion manufacturing, machine design, polymer related materials, science and chemical processes.


Position Requirements:
* Document processes and procedures.
* Identify problem areas for improvement and present action plans to achieve desired results
* Optimize processes in an extrusion manufacturing facility to improve run efficiencies, product quality and provide reductions in product defects and material waste.
* Responsible for tracking and maintain various process metrics.
* Responsible for extrusion supervision, planning and scheduling.
* New equipment research and recommendations.
* Adapt existing processes to new materials to support new products.
* Interface with vendors and customers as required.
* Support the Operations group on a daily basis.
* Other tasks as required

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or science. BS in plastics engineering or polymer science preferred.
* Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in extrusion, machine design, polymer related materials science, chemical processes a plus.
* Strong reasoning skills and ability to analyze problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Must have the capability of using a computer for data analysis and acquisition, word processing, spreadsheet operation, e-mail communication, and database management.
* Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision toward attainment of goals.
* Excellent project management skills.
* Good judgment and the ability to interact with hourly employees, co-workers and managers at all levels of the organization, along with outside vendors and customers.
