About the job

The Senior Financial Analyst, Finance & Strategy will help drive Janie and Jack’s financial planning and strategic priorities. You will be a key partner to the business team, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of financial modeling, data analysis, and a passion for translating complex data into actionable business strategies. Experience in investment banking is highly valued.

You will have a direct impact on the company's trajectory and be a key driver of its success. This role requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams.

This role is hybrid onsite in our San Francisco, CA office.


What you’ll do

  • Design and maintain detailed financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning
  • Build flexible, ad hoc models to assess new business initiatives and provide actionable insights to leadership
  • Develop and deliver regular business performance updates that align stakeholders around key metrics and strategic goals
  • Lead cross-functional projects that drive profitability improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Develop and enhance reporting dashboards to track KPIs, highlight trends, and surface opportunities for growth
  • Perform variance analysis onoperating expenses, identifying drivers and ensuring effective cost management
  • Simplify and refine financial processes to boost accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of reporting
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform strategic decisions and support investor and board communications
  • Partner across departments to uncover and implement strategies that drive value and enhance performance


What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance, ideally supporting retail, consumer, or e-commerce businesses
  • Strong financial modeling (cash flow, balance sheet and P&L) and analytical skills, with an understanding of retail business dynamics
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and presentations for leadership
  • Advanced modeling skills(e.g.Power Query); SQL or Python experience a plus
  • Bonus points for having implemented AI creatively into your work
