Financial Analyst | YMCA of the North | $70,000 - $89,000 Annually | Full-Time

At a Glance:
Help drive informed decision-making across the YMCA by analyzing financial data, developing budgets and forecasts, preparing reports, and partnering with leaders across the organization. This role is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys turning data into insights that support programs, operations, and strategic goals.

Schedule:

  • Full-Time
  • Primarily Monday-Friday business hours
  • Hybrid schedule; must be based in Minnesota
  • Occasional travel to branches and camp locations

In-Person Attendance Requirement:

This position requires the ability to attend in-person meetings on a regular basis, including weekly, monthly, and frequently on short notice. Candidates must be located within reasonable commuting distance and able to adjust their schedule as needed to support in-person collaboration.

Pay:

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $89,000 annually.We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.

1. Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the financial information for the Association.The incumbent will develop, input and maintain all information pertaining to the budget and forecast.They will review financial statements for accuracy, develop financial reports, and be the financial liaison to the Product Leaders, Branch Executives, and Program Directors.

2. Essential Functions:

  • Develop and input budget and forecast information for the designated product areas.
  • Provide support to Product Leaders and Directors, including budget development, analysis, financial statements, and forecasting.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and initiate any changes or corrections ensuring that all transactions have correctly posted to the general ledger.
  • Prepare forecast narratives and initiate questions of Directors for explanations and corrective action plans.
  • Be available for financial questions from all levels of the organization.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with pro forma information for new programs and/or facilities.

3. Relationships:

This position reports to the Finance Manager who reports to the AVP of FP&A.The incumbent interacts regularly with Branch Executives, Program Directors and Association staff.

4. Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in financial analysis, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting and accounting.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles, methods and applications, and general knowledge of budget management, development and financial analysis.
  • Figure aptitude, speed, and accuracy with data input.
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to make recommendations and decisions.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written, with all levels of the organization.
  • High degree of competence, initiative, organization skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Must be systematic and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated technical skills working with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in non-profit accounting or finance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains, Planful, Traction Rec, and Salesforce software programs.

5. Work Conditions:

Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time. Travel to branches and camp locations as needed.

6. Additional Notes:

This job description represents the major functions of the position but is not intended to be all-inclusive.
