About the Role

Caterpillar is seeking a highly analytical professional to support its global unformed steel procurement team. This role sits at the intersection of data analytics, project management, procurement strategy, and executive reporting, helping drive data-driven decisions across a global category organization.

This is a high-visibility role that works closely with procurement leadership, category managers, finance, and supply chain teams to deliver reporting, market insights, and project coordination that support global sourcing strategies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain dashboards tracking steel pricing, supplier performance, cost drivers, and market trends
  • Support category strategy execution through project tracking, milestone management, and governance activities
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, business reviews, and strategic reporting materials
  • Analyze procurement, supplier, and market data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Partner with global stakeholders across North America, EMEA, and APAC regions
  • Support reporting standardization, process improvement, and automation initiatives
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, risks, and action items across multiple initiatives
  • Translate complex data into clear business insights for leadership decision-making


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Strategic Sourcing, PMO, or a related field
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, data modeling, reporting, and scenario analysis
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
  • Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and global teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP, Ariba, or other procurement/ERP systems
  • Knowledge of commodity markets, manufacturing, or supply chain operations
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or Power BI AI features
  • Exposure to automation tools such as Power Automate, Python, or similar solutions
  • Experience supporting executive reporting and business reviews
