Job Summary:
MDAEdge is seeking an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator (DBA) with 5-6+ years of hands-on experience in managing MongoDB sharded clusters. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain MongoDB clusters, ensuring high availability and performance while optimizing query performance and implementing automation for routine DBA tasks.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Manage and maintain MongoDB sharded clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
โ€ข Perform MongoDB installations, upgrades, and patches across multiple shards and replica sets.
โ€ข Handle backup and recovery operations (including point-in-time restores) without Ops Manager.
โ€ข Monitor and optimize query performance, analyze slow queries, and provide tuning recommendations.
โ€ข Scale clusters (adding/removing shards, rebalancing data) as per workload demands.
โ€ข Use monitoring tools (e.g., MongoDB Atlas, Prometheus, Grafana, or native tools) to track cluster health and resource utilization.
โ€ข Troubleshoot replication lag, connectivity, and other database issues.
โ€ข Implement automation using basic shell scripting (Bash/Python) for routine DBA tasks.
โ€ข Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas and indexing strategies.
