Business Data Analyst
Job Summary
InfoTech Resources is seeking a Business Data Analyst for a 9-month project with our client, an insurance organization in the suburbs north of Chicago, IL. The Analyst will act as the conduit between business users and developers by refining business requirements into technical data and integration mappings. This role is part of a technical group embedded with the client leadership that will guide a 3rd-party vendor's team in executing a CRM migration project from Salesforce CRM into MS Dynamics CRM 365. To do this, the client needs assistance mapping the underlying data integrations to support the new Dynamics platform. The client has pre-existing business requirements available, so the Analyst will be responsible for completing the business requirements (if necessary), refining the BRD/stories into tech specs for the developers to use, identifying and documenting a comprehensive list of data sources, and data mapping where necessary.
This role is ideal for someone who excels at building strong partnerships with business personnel and technical teams, has substantial background as a BA in heavily data-focused and/or Data Analyst roles, and creating detailed technical documentation. Candidates will ideally be available for a hybrid commute (3 days/week) in the north Chicago suburbs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with client business units to understand strategic objectives and conduct deep analysis to refine existing documentation
  • Collaborate across business and IT teams to align data, integrations, and the Salesforce and Dynamics platforms with the project timeline and objectives.
  • Document business and/or data requirements, define relevant data sources, and clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Modify (if available) or create (if not) business process and data mappings that align with the client's desired future state for their Contact Center system
  • Write SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from SQL Server environments

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in a data-focused business analysis consulting role
  • Strong business acumen with at least 5 years of experience partnering cross-functionally
  • Expertise in discovery, requirements gathering, technical documentation, and the mapping of data and business processes
  • Background writing detailed technical specifications, including physical-level information like field names, sample SQL stems, etc. is critical
  • Comfort delivering on a tight deadline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
