Job description

Analyzer Technician

SUMMARY
Install, maintain, and repair Industrial analytical equipment both in the lab and process field. Analytical equipment includes electronics, controllers, sample system, and final control elements such as control valves. Types of analyzers include but not limited to gas chromatograms, IR, O2, CEMS, etc. Also see additional Analyzer duties (attached).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Install new equipment and assist engineer with setting up loop files including specifications, loop drawings, spare parts list, operating and maintenance manuals, and pre startup checklist. Perform daily inspections of projects contracted out and assist loop check and startup.
Perform daily calibration and visual inspection of analyzers per inspection schedules. Troubleshoot and repair analyzer and sample systems as required. Contact manufacturer for technical assistance. Obtain pricing and availability of parts needed for repair. Document test and repair data.
Coordinate all work with operations to obtain work permits and proper PPE. Follow SOP for bypassing interlocks.
Required to be on After hour emergency calls as required.

: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUAL (GED) AND Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
