Job description

At Beyond Feedback, we bring humanity back to business by partnering with business leaders to provide employee and customer lifecycle feedback programs. The tailor-made feedback programs and actionable insights provided by our team of experts drive increased brand loyalty, customer retention, employee retention, and employee engagement for business clients.
**We have a new opportunity available for a full-time Database Analyst to join us in our mission of reaching 35M survey participants by 2035!**
Do you find yourself building a quick script to automate something you've done three times manually—because why would anyone do the same thing twice? Are you equally comfortable diving into a complex SQL query and then packaging that logic into something your teammates can run themselves? Do you see patterns in messy data and patterns in repetitive workflows—then instinctively want to fix both? Does seeing your automation save a colleague hours of work give you real satisfaction? If this describes you, read on:
What You'll Do:
*Core Analytical Work (60-70% of the role):*

  • Build and maintain client dashboards, creating actionable insights for senior executive consumption
  • Write SQL queries to extract, transform, load, and analyze survey data across our active project portfolio
  • Manage sensitive client data with 100% accuracy while maintaining data structures, integrity protocols, and visualization standards
  • Generate standard reports and deliverables on project timelines, ensuring high-quality outputs for C-suite leaders
  • Perform quality control on data and outputs before client delivery
  • Collaborate with Client Project Managers to support project completion and respond to analytical requests

*Automation & Tool Building (30-40% of the role):*

  • Identify repetitive analytical tasks and manual processes that are good candidates for automation
  • Develop Python scripts that run on schedule and serve other team members
  • Create ETL processes for recurring data transformations across multiple client projects
  • Build self-service tools that reduce dependency on specialists and enable non-technical teammates to work more efficiently
  • Maintain and document production code with proper version control (Git)
  • Design workflows with error handling, logging, and edge case management

What You Bring to the Table (required qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • At least 5 years of data analytics experience with strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using data visualization tools (Tableau, or similar)
  • Python scripting experience with demonstrated ability to build automation—not just ad-hoc analysis scripts
  • Experience with API integrations and working with third-party platforms
  • Experience building tools or scripts that others actually adopt and use in their work
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development practices
  • Understanding of production vs. development environments and how to build reliable, maintainable code
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence and prioritize workflow across analytical and automation work
  • A proactive approach to identifying inefficiencies and building solutions without waiting to be asked

What Success Looks Like:
You're assigned to 8-10 active client projects alongside other analysts. While doing the work, you realize you're manually reformatting the same data export every week. Instead of just doing it faster, you build a script to automate it, document the process, and now the whole team benefits. By the end of your first year, you've automated 3-5 manual processes that were consuming 10+ hours per week of team time and built at least one self-service tool that non-technical team members use regularly.
What's In It For You (comp & benefits):

  • Starting pay is competitive depending on experience.
  • A comprehensive suite of benefits including medical/dental/vision coverage (with fully paid employee medical coverage after 5 years), life insurance, gym reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, maternity/paternity leave, vacation time, and more.
  • Generous paid time off with 15.5 paid holidays, plus Birthday Friday and 2 Rest & Reprieve days. Plus - we pay you a $2,000 vacation allowance to use as you choose once you reach your 5-year anniversary — that's right, we pay you to go on vacation! We even pay you to give back to your community and volunteer at a place of your choosing two days per year.

Our Work-From-Home Arrangement:
You must work from your primary residence located within 35 miles of our office so you can easily attend team-building events that occur throughout the year. You must have reliable internet service at home (minimum speed of 10MB download/5MB upload). You must have a dedicated workspace at your home that is free from distractions just like you would if you worked from our office. Beyond Feedback provides all the computer equipment you need to be successful.
The business hours and regular schedule for this role is 7am-4pm Monday through Friday.
Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
All newly hired employees are subject to a background check and E-Verify employment eligibility verification.

Company Description

Beyond Feedback is a national leader in measuring and managing customer loyalty and employee engagement. Our services are used by organizations to gain insight into the perspectives of their customers and employees so they can improve their experience and drive better business results.
