We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Data Science team. The Data Analyst, Business Intelligence is responsible for conducting in-depth quantitative analyses to support financial and operational strategies, creating data visualizations that communicate trends and forecasts effectively to stakeholders. They gather analytical requirements, write database queries, and build automated reports using SQL and Python, ensuring adherence to SOX controls. This involves managing projects from inception to completion, designing data-driven solutions that enhance business outcomes and operational efficiency. The Data Analyst, Business Intelligence collaborates with both technical and non-technical teams to provide insights that support product development, provider operations, and marketing strategies, translating complex data into actionable results across a multi-sided healthcare marketplace.

Talkspace Headquarters is located in NYC. This role requires two days onsite in our Manhattan headquarters.

What You'll Do

  • Data Analysis
    • Conduct quantitative and statistical analyses of complex financial and operational data to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and generate actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
    • Partner with stakeholders to gather business and analytical requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions, reports, and recommendations.
    • Develop and maintain data models, automated reporting, and data visualizations that improve data accuracy, communicate financial trends, and support internal and external stakeholders.
    • Write database queries and leverage SQL and Python to manage, analyze, and automate financial data and reporting.
    • Design and execute predictive modeling and A/B testing methodologies to evaluate strategies and forecast business outcomes.
    • Own financial analytics projects end-to-end, from scoping and planning through execution and delivery, while ensuring compliance with SOX controls and driving operational efficiency.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Work with a team of both technical and non-technical stakeholders to turn insight into action.
    • Collaborate with the FP&A team to provide data-driven insights that support product development, provider network operations, commercial strategy, and marketing. 
    • Communicate the story behind the data to non-technical stakeholders, translating insights into results.
  • Strategic Insights
    • Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights supporting product development, provider network operations, commercial strategy, marketing, and partnership initiatives/decisions.
    • Navigate the intricacies of a multi-sided marketplace, within a healthcare context, understanding different stakeholder needs and market drivers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

About You 

  • 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role with a strong finance focus
  • BA/BS in a quantitative field like statistics, applied mathematics, economics, computer science, or equivalent experience. An MBA is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SQL, python, and Excel / Google Sheets. Knowledge of dbt is a plus.
  • Experience working in a public company and familiar with SOX compliance processes. 
  • Comfortable with statistics and data manipulation.
  • Experience with data visualization software like Looker or Tableau.

Compensation

At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.

The base salary range for this role is between $110,000 - $130,000. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate's relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
