Job description

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education or field instruction required.
  2. Florida certification in the subject area required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Curriculum and Instruction

  • Supports teachers with meeting Curriculum and Instruction Quarterly Objectives.
  • Collaborates with principal and APC, weekly, concerning progress on Curriculum and Instruction Quarterly Objectives.
  • Communicates with transparency to the Curriculum Supervisors on progress towards Curriculum and Instruction Quarterly Objectives.
  • Assists with the coordination and implementation of the curriculum.
  • Assists in the planning of curriculum programs that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Assists teachers in consistently implementing classroom management best practices.
  • Assists teachers in lesson planning and guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students.
  • Assists teachers in employing a variety of high yield instructional techniques.
  • Assists teachers in setting up and organizing their classrooms for a clean and structured learning environment (including resources, manipulatives, and desk organization).
  • Assists in supporting interventionists with the use of curriculum and instructional strategies.

Coaching and Professional Development

  • Utilizes the CSA coaching model (planning, demonstrating, providing feedback) with teachers.
  • Provides Directive, Facilitative and Dialogical coaching.
  • Utilizes the Impact Cycle process to partner with teachers to help them have a positive impact on student learning.
  • Monitors and supports teachers through the coaching cycle to ensure effective classroom management and instructional delivery. Strives to model lessons and co-teach in each grade level.
  • Provides site based professional development that is aligned to the needs of students based upon assessment and data. Including pre-planning support.
  • Participates in professional development and shares the content with school personnel.
  • Submits a weekly coaching log to administrators outlining coaching plans and progress made with teachers receiving coaching support.
  • Engages teachers in learning new instructional skills.
  • Observes and provides relative feedback to teachers.
  • Maintain a professional coaching portfolio with evidence.

School Culture and Environment

  • Assumes the responsibilities of the role as catalyst for positive change and key stakeholder in overall campus performance and culture.
  • Strives to support the schoolโ€™s philosophy of education, instructional goals and objectives.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.

Data and Assessment

  • Follows all CSA data processing protocols
  • Assists in data chats with administrators and teachers to interpret assessment data, adjust instruction, and plan effective remediation and enrichment instruction to increase student achievement.
  • Collaborates with principals on the progress of the CHOICE Plan based on data analysis.

Professional Conduct and Confidentiality

  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and administrative regulation.
  • Participates in the development of the Administrator Coach Agreement.
  • Honors the terms outlined in the Administrator Coach Agreement.
  • Attends and participates in coach meetings and professional learning communities.
  • Consistently checks communication channels for updates.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be prompt, honor commitments and keep an appropriate schedule.
  • Keep commitments โ€“ be mindful of scheduling
  • Demonstrates professional appearance and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Check email often and respond within 24 hours.
  • Coaching conversations are confidential (including school data, student information, student data, etc.)
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Curriculum Team, or Principal may from time-to-time assign.
