The data analytics team/program supports data analytics initiatives across Federal Signal, and assists with strategic research/business development opportunities and tactical implementation/optimization projects with detailed data-driven analysis and solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Leverage data and research to test hypotheses to support growth objectives and business opportunities.
  • Create and support data-intensive models to optimize key strategic decisions across sales, operations and capital allocation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed market share and market sizing analyses by product and business unit.
  • Support data aggregation and automation efforts for key external KPIs to provide timely intelligence to business units, the corporate strategy team and senior management.
  • Author and support analyses for quarterly and annual market intelligence reports for senior management based on external and internal data.
  • Support data analytics projects by identifying new data-based intelligence offerings and internal BU data analysis.
  • Identify and disseminate sales lead generation by analyzing large unstructured data sets for key Federal Signal products.
  • Maintain and update relevant data sets across internal and external sources and distribute data-driven conclusions to key stakeholders.
  • Provide ad hoc data analysis and support special projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical field such as data science, statistics, economics, computer science, or finance.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in data analytics/analysis, strategy, consulting or a related analytical role.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Experience in web scraping strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation tools (e.g., Python, R) preferred.
  • Foundational skills in finance, forecasting and related analysis including modeling and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work with large sets of unstructured data independently.

Target salary range: $65,000 - $95,000
