Location:                          2 Broadway, New York, NY 10004
Position Title:                   Data Analyst - Automatic Camera Enforcement, Emerging Talent Intern
Hourly Rate:                    $21.00 (Graduate)
 
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
 
 
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
The Fleet Technologies Group leads a portfolio of innovative projects focused on enhancing operations, customer communications, and depot operations. 
 
Automatic camera enforcement (ACE) seeks to use cutting edge camera, license plate recognition, and AI/ML technology to identify violations of traffics laws such as bus lane, bus stop or double-parking infractions.  In this internship, you'll dive into real-world systemsโ€”reviewing vendor compliance with requirements, testing their results โ€“generally in office but occasionally out in the field, and shaping transit network descriptions. Youโ€™ll analyze, build scripts and dashboards and present data on operational and financial metrics, and collaborate with vendor AI models to uncover process improvements.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

The intern will, under professional guidance:

  •  Analyze system data to evaluate performance and extract actionable insights.
  • Develop scripts for data analysis and transformation.
  • Join field exercises to oversee installations or gather data/evidence for subsequent analysis.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to coordinate activities.
  • Create charts and diagrams illustrating system functionality.
  •  Compile reports using data from multiple, diverse sources.
  • Document analytical processes and procedures.
  • Attend project meetings and provide input where appropriate.
 
PROJECTS:

The ACE program comprises three core sub-projects that interns will actively support:

  • Requirements Compliance โ€“ oversee and inspect the equipment during installation and then later analyze operational data to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
  • Operational Metrics โ€“ Aggregate these data, assist in generating performance reports, and support troubleshooting efforts as needed.
  •  Financial Reporting โ€“ Consolidate financial data from operational activities and contribute to the preparation of accurate financial reports.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
  • Good with data and scripting skills. 
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA
  • Major(s) Preferred: Data Science (preferred), any Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
