POSITION SUMMARY:  
The Intern role is intended to be a learning and contributing position.  The position, within the Program Management Team, will assist with functions relating to the current ship maintenance and modernization programs.
  
SALARY RANGE: $23.08 – 26.44 / hr
  
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 
(This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities.) 
Key functions and duties of the program management Intern include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist with, and carry out, data analysis relevant to the program
  • Use data analysis to help guide the program
    • Identify areas of concerns or areas of opportunity
    • Develop solutions to concerns, or to strengthen existing processes
  • Work with program stakeholders to ensure deliverables are being met
  • Assist with the establishment of program activities, relevant to the specific department/discipline
  • Prepare presentation material to support the program team
  • Help with build strategy development
  • Assist with RFI process and vendor selection
  • Participate in Vigor Safety Program
  
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: 
None
  
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:   
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical information
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  
  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, including, but not limited to:
    • Naval Architect/Marine Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Project Management
  • Familiarity with typical industry software systems and tools
  
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: None required.
  
WORK ENVIRONMENT:    
This position requires that the successful candidate work onsite 5 days per week. The person may be required to be in production areas at times.  There may be local travel up to 10% of the time and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.
