Job description

Job Title: Senior Wireless Systems Design Lead
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Wireless Systems Design Lead to spearhead the architecture and execution of complex wireless telecommunications projects. You will act as the technical authority for our wireless designs, ensuring high-performance coverage for large-scale enterprise environments.
This is a senior-level position for an engineer who excels at balancing high-level RF modeling with hands-on project management. You will own the design process from preliminary site assessment through final commissioning, leading design teams and serving as the primary point of contact for clients, carriers, and regulatory authorities. If you thrive on solving complex RF signal propagation challenges and enjoy mentoring a team to deliver world-class infrastructure, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Modeling
• Systems Architecture: Lead the end-to-end design of wireless infrastructure, including Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Land Mobile Radio (LMR), and high-capacity wireless networks.
• RF Modeling: Utilize advanced modeling platforms (e.g., iBwave, EDX) to perform site propagation analysis, noise floor calculations, and coverage optimization.
• Technical Rigor: Conduct RF link budgeting (SNR/SINR, Return Loss, VSWR) to ensure system performance meets carrier and enterprise KPIs.
Project Leadership & Compliance
• Project Governance: Manage concurrent design projects, ensuring all deliverables meet budgetary, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Regulatory Liaison: Act as the technical expert when interfacing with local code officials and wireless carriers. Ensure all designs strictly adhere to national safety, building, and spectrum codes.
• Cross-Functional Design: Collaborate with BIM/CAD designers to produce constructible, high-quality documentation. Conduct site visits and field reviews to validate designs in real-world conditions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Technical or Associate's degree (Bachelor's in Electrical/Communications Engineering preferred).
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience designing enterprise-grade wireless telecommunications systems (including Public Safety and Commercial DAS).
• Tooling Mastery: Expertise in iBwave, EDX, or equivalent wireless modeling platforms.
• Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of RF physics, noise floors, SNIR, and VSWR.
• Project Leadership: Proven ability to respond to RFPs, manage project budgets, and lead technical teams through the full design lifecycle.
Preferred Attributes
• Certifications: iBwave Level 2 (Required); NICET, GROL, or OEM-specific certifications are a major plus.
• Industry Standards: Proficiency in national safety and fire codes related to signal propagation and emergency communications.
• Communication: Ability to distill complex RF performance metrics into actionable information for stakeholders and clients.
