Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and reliable front desk receptionist to manage our reception area at Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Morristown location. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, has excellent customer service skills, and has a passion for dance. The front desk receptionist will be the first point of contact for our students and visitors, providing them with a warm welcome and assisting with their inquiries. We are looking for a candidate interested in long-term growth within our studio; please no summer-only or short-term applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome students, visitors, and staff with a friendly demeanor.
  • Manage the studio's phone lines, answering calls and directing inquiries as appropriate.
  • Schedule and confirm class appointments, private lessons, and studio rentals.
  • Assist with student registration, class sign-ups, and payment processing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Provide information about our classes, events, and promotions.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining student records.
  • Support the studio staff with various tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 12:30pm - 9pm.
  • A passion for dance or familiarity with the dance community is a plus.

Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Morristown opened its doors in July 2007 under the direction of National Dance Board Member Gabriela Jileva. On going training and development, in business and dance, has lead to explosive growth in the company. We are currently accepting applications to add the to the award winning team.
Fred Astaire Dance Studio instructors are gifted dance educators who hail from all over the world. Many have Fine Arts degrees and are actively-competing, award-winning professional dancers. Our dance instructors complete the rigorous work required to become certified in the Fred Astaire Curriculum, a teaching method that not only teaches the mechanics of partner dancing, but also presents the building blocks of how people ABSORB and RETAIN information. This program ensures a consistent, high-level of dance instruction because it teaches in a way that people naturally learn! Our proprietary dance curriculum is also continuously reviewed by world-famous former dance champions and registered judges on the Fred Astaire National Dance Board, to ensure only the finest, most up-to-date programs for our students.
