Job description

Miami Dade College (MDC) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Faculty member to join the Dance Program.

What you will be doing:
  • Teach dance courses for both NWSA high school and college programs to include all levels of modern and other related areas such as composition, history and repertory.
  • Choreograph and/or stage and serve as rehearsal director for dance works for the department.
  • Evaluate and advise students.
  • Participate in departmental, campus and college affairs.
  • Participate in curriculum development and revision.
  • Participate in student recruitment.
  • Participate in a variety of departmental, campus and college‑wide programs, activities and committees.
  • Participate in all auditions, juries, conferences and other related activities.
  • Attend performances.
What you need to succeed:
  • Master's degree in Dance from a regionally accredited institution or a Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and 18 graduate credit hours in Dance.
  • Degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in using instructional technology and multimedia resources.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students through active learning strategies and problem-solving approaches.
  • Willingness to teach at multiple campus or outreach sites and adapt to evening/weekend scheduling.

  • Anticipated start date: On or before Fall Semester 2026.
