Job Description

Tax Consultant and Advisor – CPA

As a Tax Accountant, you will assist the team in managing the processes for all tax-related deliverables including tax planning, tax compliance, tax preparation, tax consultancy and review for multiple clients and entities. Everything you do will be focused on providing exceptional level of tax services for all clients.

Requirements:

  1. Licensed CPA (Do not Apply Without a CPA Certificate)
  2. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related field required
  3. Minimum of five years of tax related work experience in public accounting
  4. A background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of U.S. income taxation
  5. Experience with individual and business entity tax preparation and accounting
  6. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  7. Effective verbal and written communications skills including the ability to articulate complex tax and financial information to all levels of clientele
  8. Well-developed decision-making skills and initiative to make those decisions
  9. Work effectively under pressure
  10. Highly dedicated with a positive attitude, self-motivated, and a team player who takes initiative
  11. Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, analytical, problem solving, client service, leadership and PC skills including accounting software proficiency
  12. Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly with Word and Excel, Experience working with UltraTax CS and/or QuickBooks a plus

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with other experienced CPAs to prepare and review required tax returns and deliverables for small to mid-sized, closely held businesses and individuals, working to ensure that deadlines are met
  2. Work with efficiency and at times under pressure to meet strict deadlines
  3. Work efforts with be both independently and as part of a team depending on the client needs
  4. Typical activities include, but are not limited to, workpaper documentation, client points, working trial balances and appropriate journal entries, year-end planning, and client specific advisory and tax research services
  5. Become familiar with the firm’s policies and procedures
  6. Become familiar with the firm technology, tax software and research suite
  7. Become familiar with the firm standards for workpaper preparation
  8. Become proficient in research of highly complex tax issues
  9. Become familiar with the pertinent IRS rules and regulations
  10. Understand the rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA and Circular 230
  11. Obtain a working knowledge of tax research techniques and the various research sources in the firm’s electronic library
  12. Assist the team in preparing individual and business entity tax returns
