About Us: The Michigan Milk Producers Association is a dairy farmer owned cooperative and dairy processor. Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.MMPA maintains a strong presence within the dairy industry with strategic business relationships through a variety of channels like processing shelf-stable, value added dairy products. MMPA has five member owned processing plants in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, including Superior Dairy and the Middlebury Cheese Company. Products made at MMPA's plants include fluid milk, cheese, ultrafiltered milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk. Position SummaryWe are seeking reliable and motivated General Labor employees to join our cottage cheese production team. This role supports daily manufacturing operations by assisting with production, packaging, sanitation, and quality processes in a food manufacturing environment. Successful candidates are safety-focused, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced production setting.Essential Job DutiesAssist in the production and packaging of cottage cheese productsOperate basic production and packaging equipmentLoad and unload materials, ingredients, and finished productsPerform sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work areasFollow all food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Comply with safety procedures and company policies at all timesComplete required production and quality documentationSupport team members and supervisors as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred, but not requiredAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong attendance and reliabilityAbility to work in a team environmentPrior manufacturing or food production experience is a plus, but not requiredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to work in a cold, wet, and fast-paced environmentMust be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Work EnvironmentFood manufacturing facility producing dairy productsExposure to cold temperatures, moisture, and moving machineryMust follow strict hygiene and sanitation standardsMMPA provides the opportunity for meaningful work that makes a difference in the dairy industry and in our communities.
