Job Summary
The Dairy/Frozen Lead will be responsible for modeling and promoting Sendik's culture by consistently providing "best in class" service to our guests. The main responsibility of the Dairy/Frozen Lead is to oversee associates, customer satisfaction and standards for the Dairy/Frozen Department, in the absence of the Dairy/Frozen Manager. As a part of the Sendik's leadership team, the Dairy/Frozen Lead must demonstrate accountability, strong team management skills and hands-on involvement, both on the floor and with the team.

Work Experience
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Serve customers in the Dairy/Frozen Department while modeling Sendik's culture and providing "best in class" customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their business
  • Provide consistent, timely and friendly customer service when answering questions, making suggestions and resolving complaints
  • Manage all areas of the Dairy/Frozen Department, consistently leading by example and applying effective management techniques
  • Ensure that the Dairy/Frozen Department is always fully stocked with the best quality products
  • Maintain department conditions, ensuring shelves are stocked, product is rotated and the department is clean and well organized
  • Actively work new product offerings onto shelves, while removing discontinued products
  • Maintain product tags to ensure products have the correct source of supply for ordering
  • Order inventory based on reports (shrink, overage, expired, etc.)
  • Oversee, manage and train associates; including, but not limited to coaching, performance improvement, recognition, 1:1 meetings and feedback
  • Assist with unloading daily deliveries
  • Assist with maintaining back coolers, including taking cold temperatures at designated times
  • Create attractive Dairy/Frozen Department displays and end caps based on specific sales for the week
  • Communicate with Dairy/Frozen Manager in regards to department conditions, associate relations, department hiring needs, associate accidents and other concerns as needed
  • Participate in additional training and leadership activities as directed
  • Operate, maintain and clean Dairy/Frozen equipment including, u-boats, flat carts and pallet jacks
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures
  • Assist with all other Dairy/Frozen Department duties as needed

Qualifications:
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age due to required operation of Dairy/Frozen equipment
  • Prior grocery experience as well as leadership experience is required
  • Ability to work in a colder environment
  • Ability to successfully lead, coach, train, develop and motivate a team
  • Ability to provide clear direction and delegate responsibilities to a team after determining department needs
  • Strong knowledge of local and state health, sanitation and safety regulations
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions, priorities and circumstances
  • Ability to maintain composure, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills
