What is a Dairy CDL?

Dairy CDL drivers are commercial truck drivers who specialize in transporting milk and other dairy products from farms to processing plants, distribution centers, or retail locations. These drivers must hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and may also need special endorsements depending on the type of vehicle or cargo they haul, such as tankers for bulk milk. Dairy CDL drivers are responsible for ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, and according to food safety regulations. Their work often involves early hours, route planning, and careful handling of perishable goods. Attention to cleanliness and adherence to health standards is essential in this role.
