POSITION SUMMARY

The Sanitation Worker is a key member of the team responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the food processing plant and production equipment to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary manufacturing environment that supports the production of high-quality cheese and dairy products.

This role requires the ability to properly disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble processing equipment while maintaining organization and care of multiple machine components. The Sanitation Worker will work closely with team members to complete sanitation procedures efficiently and safely while following all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SSOPs (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, processing lines, and plant areas according to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Properly disassemble and reassemble processing equipment without causing damage to components or machinery.
  • Maintain organization and accountability of machine parts during cleaning and sanitation processes.
  • Handle and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively by following all safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
  • Work around food processing equipment and production machinery while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Observe and follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), SSOPs (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures), and company safety policies.
  • Assist with deep cleaning and sanitation of production areas, floors, walls, drains, and equipment.
  • Identify and report any sanitation, safety, or equipment concerns to leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with sanitation crew members and production teams to ensure all cleaning tasks are completed thoroughly and on schedule.
  • Remain flexible and willing to perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors in support of plant operations.
  • Support food safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous sanitation experience, preferably in dairy or food manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with handling sanitation chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
