Job description

The Electrical Engineer is a key member of the Functional Design team within the Product Development organization and is responsible for analog and digital circuitry design of Radiation Therapy and Nuclear Medicine products, providing design solutions in a dynamic environment with a focus on analysis, DFx, documentation, prototyping, verification, and new product introduction.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

· System Design: Lead the definition of system-level architecture by translating advanced product requirements into robust electrical, software, and interface specifications. Drive innovation in signal processing, power distribution, and system integration to meet demanding performance and reliability goals.

· Circuit Design: Design and implement precision analog and high-speed digital circuits, including microcontroller-based subsystems, high bit ADC/DAC interfaces, and ultra low-noise front ends.

· Documentation: Generate comprehensive design documentation (schematics, PCB layout, BOMs, assembly drawings, theory of operation) that reflects deep domain expertise. Develop advanced debug strategies and partner with test engineering to define rigorous validation and production test protocols.

· Design Reviews: Lead and participate in schematic, PCB, firmware, and system reviews: DFx and FMEA

· Technician Training: Conduct product training for production, support operations, sales, and test technicians

· Regulatory: Interface with testing laboratories and government agencies to facilitate regulatory testing to assure that products meet the necessary domestic and international regulatory requirements

· Assist in Risk Assessment and DFx (DFM, FMEA, Tolerance analysis, etc.) activities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline

· Low-noise analog front ends (sub-nanoamp current measurement, picoamp-level leakage analysis)

· High-voltage bias generation and regulation for photomultiplier tubes and solid-state detectors

· FPGA/CPLD-based signal processing for real-time radiation event capture

· Embedded systems with deterministic timing (bare-metal firmware, RTOS integration)

· EMC/ESD mitigation at board and system level (EN 55011, IEC 61000-4-x standards)
