iDEAL Hire is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Newark, Delaware.

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (0700โ€“1900) | 3x12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week | Every other weekend required | Holiday requirement applies

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a Labor & Delivery unit managing common diagnoses and procedures including labor, induction of labor, Cesarean section delivery, External Cephalic Version, fetal demise, and intrauterine fetal death
  • Perform and manage specialized procedures including epidural management, Magnesium Sulfate administration, Pitocin titration, and insulin drips
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
  • Document patient care using Cerner (transitioning to Epic)
  • Float to support ancillary areas including Antenatal, High Risk, OB Triage, and Postpartum as needed
  • Provide timely shift handoff to charge or oncoming nurse, communicating outstanding tasks and relevant patient information not readily visible in the EMR
Required Qualifications
  • Active Delaware RN license or valid Compact RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery specialty โ€” no exceptions
  • Current certifications required; must provide list of certifications with expiration dates at time of submission
  • Ability to work every other weekend and assigned holidays
  • Willingness and ability to float to areas within acuity (Antenatal, High Risk, OB Triage, Postpartum)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with Cerner EMR; familiarity with Epic is a plus
  • Experience managing high-acuity obstetric patients including high-risk and antepartum populations
