Lead the Future of Oncology Care in Southern Oregon.

Sky Lakes Medical Center is seeking a visionary Medical Oncologist or Hematologist/Oncologist to serve as our Oncology Medical Director. This is a high-impact, 1.0 FTE hybrid role designed for a clinical leader who wants to balance high-level strategic oversight with active clinical practice. You will lead an exceptional care team and drive the expansion of oncology services across a 10,000-square-mile region.

Executive Compensation & Incentives
  • Total Annual Compensation: $725,000 (inclusive of Directorship stipend).
  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $100,000.
  • Retention & Support: Comprehensive benefits, CME funds ($4,000/yr), and $1,000 for licensing.
  • Loan Forgiveness: As a non-profit, Sky Lakes is a qualifying employer for PSLF.
Leadership & Clinical Balance

We’ve structured this role to prevent burnout and ensure you have the bandwidth to lead effectively:

  • The Schedule: Monday–Friday, 08:00 – 17:00.
  • Clinical Flexibility: 4-day work week or flexible patient contact hours.
  • Dedicated Admin Time: 8 hours of protected administrative time per week.
  • Call: Phone-only, limited to 8 days per month.
Your Impact as Medical Director

As the clinical face of our oncology service line, your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Oversight: Collaborating with the CTC Director and Administration to steer operations, staffing, and patient satisfaction.
  • Quality & Innovation: Chairing the Sky Lakes Oncology Committee and spearheading quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Mentorship: Leading the recruitment, orientation, and professional development of physicians and APPs.
  • Advocacy: Serving as the primary advisor to the Medical Staff and Governing Board on all matters of medical oncology.
Qualifications

We are looking for a dynamic communicator who leads with both humility and courage.

  • Education: Board Certification and Fellowship training in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology (MD/DO).
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years post-fellowship clinical experience.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in physician recruitment and mentorship. Experience leading tumor boards or utilization committees is highly prioritized.
