A Brief Summary of This Position:
While working under the direction of the Departmental Supervisor/Lead Person, the Inventory Control Cycle Counter ensures the accuracy of work-in-process, raw material, and finished good inventory records using cycle counting and transaction auditing tools. This position must be able to analyze and document inventory related problems, whether caused by systems, procedures or other causes.
Standard Shift: 1st shift (Days) Monday - Friday 7AM - 3PM
As needed there will be work hours required outside the Standard shift (above)
Starting Hourly Pay Rate (LG5): $21.92
Opportunity for step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year & 2 years
Essential Functions:
  • Reconcile actual counts with specific work-in-process and raw material locations and inventory balances
  • Review inventory data for accuracy and compliance with procedures
  • Report results of audits and conditions causing errors and omissions in inventory transactions to appropriate management
  • Identify parts and/or specific locations of material to be audited and analyzed
  • Report incorrect or inadequate part identification found during audit process to department lead or supervisor
  • Report damage or unusable inventory found during audit process to appropriate personnel
  • Assure that inventory transactions are processed appropriately
  • Perform follow up and approval for work-on-process (WIP) audit adjustments
  • Identify and adjust cumulative work order errors
  • Perform special transactions for alternate routings and bills of materials
  • Perform inter-site transactions and audits as required
  • Ananlyze, document, investigate and report inventory discrepancies to identify reasons for variance
  • Inform and train operating personnel regarding inventory control methods and procedures as directed
  • Provide recommendations for innovations and improvements to all inventory processes, procedures and controls
  • Review QAD item set-up, including bill of material and routing to check for accuracy when resolving inventory problems
  • Transport raw materials and components from yard to staging area using forklift, pallet jack and golf cart
  • Be responsible for operating forklifts and complying with forklift operational procedures and safety protocols
  • Maintain safe work habits, and take immediate action to correct any unsafe conditions that might occur
  • Work with department dispatchers to prioritize workloads to achieve acceptable fill rates
  • Perform general housekeeping which includes and is not limited to sweeping, painting, and mopping
  • Other duties as assigned

Computer Software: MS Office, Outlook, Excel, IFS
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  • Able to execute inventory transactions in various applications
  • 6 months previous experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • 6 months prior experience using computer inventory control system
  • 6 months prior experience operating heavy equipment
  • Must be proficient at math to include adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing fractions and conversion of decimals
  • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure and micrometer
  • Previous experience reading and using blueprints
  • Previous experience operating a forklift
  • The ability to work assigned schedule to include overtime and weekends when required for business needs

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 1 year prior working experience operating heavy equipment
  • 1 year prior working experience using IFS system to receive/issue material to shop orders/receive PO's

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Ambient temperatures in work areas coincide with seasonal weather changes. Exposure to metal and smoke fumes due to surrounding processes. Abnormal noise level throughout the shop requiring that hearing protection worn at all times. Direct exposure to dirt, grease, mill scale, cutting fluid, rust inhibitors, and metal particles and splinters.
Incumbent will also be exposed to production facilities where specific PPE will be required such as hand, hearing, foot, eye, and head protection. There will also be frequent exposure to outside elements for long periods. Being outside will also expose them to material handling equipment such as forklifts, straddle trucks, and shag trucks. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The incumbent is regularly required to work in office setting to complete work, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
