The role involves continuous evaluation of emerging threats, refining detection mechanisms, and driving the implementation of policies to prevent and contain cyber incidents. The Senior Intrusion Analyst contributes to maintaining a secure environment aligned with industry standards and organizational objectives.
About the team:
The Security Operations Center Intrusion Analyst team is committed to protecting the Walmart ecosystem by applying industry best practices and automation to prevent intrusions and data loss. Utilizing advanced tools and frameworks, the team enhances threat detection and response capabilities to ensure comprehensive security. Focused on continuous improvement, members collaborate across functions to implement effective security measures that uphold operational resilience and customer trust. This team plays a vital role in managing cyber risks, incident response, and intrusion prevention within a dynamic threat environment, supporting Walmart’s commitment to secure and reliable operations.
What you'll do:
  • Monitor and analyze intrusion detection and prevention systems to identify and respond to security threats promptly.
  • Lead cyber incident detection, reporting, containment, and recovery efforts in alignment with established protocols.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures for intrusion and incident management to enhance organizational security posture.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement effective cyber risk mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to assess cyber risks, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements.
  • Drive continuous evaluation and enhancement of cyber risk assessment and incident response processes.
  • Support infrastructure and network security design to ensure compliance with security standards and frameworks.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive knowledge of intrusion detection, prevention, and cyber incident response protocols.
  • Proven experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and cyber risk assessment techniques.
  • Ability to develop and implement cyber incident mitigation and containment strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills in data discovery, exploratory data analysis, and threat signature development.
  • Expertise in drafting and reviewing standard operating procedures for intrusion and incident management.
