We are seeking a Secure AI Project/ Program Manager with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and efficiently-proactively anticipating leader needs and seamlessly coordinating with stakeholders to ensure priorities progress smoothly.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to perform job function with limited guidance. The individual must be composed, organized, culturally aware, an excellent communicator, and capable of managing multiple competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Additional qualifications include:

  • 7+ years of strong Project/ Program Management experience in Cyber Security
  • Understanding of AI technologies, AI security risks, and responsible AI adoption. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting executive leaders or senior management.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools like Microsoft CoPilot, and ChatGPT to drive efficiency, create content, and conduct analysis.
  • Experience supporting implementation of AI-assisted workflows for operational automation initiatives within cybersecurity environments.
  • Understanding of AI security risks, and the operational implications of AI-enabled technologies within cybersecurity environments.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with focus on precision and command of corporate protocol
  • Consistent track record of taking complex technical information and translate it into clear communications (presentations/memos) for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work across a large and diverse organization
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and standard collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, Slack).
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Secure AI Project/ Program Manager will drive operational rigor, managing key processes ensuring effective execution of Identity, Access, Network and Data Security Management program priorities. This role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, along with a proven ability to foster colleague engagement, drive cross-functional execution, and maintain a consistent track record of operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide program management leadership for initiatives focused on securing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across American Express.
  • Coordinate cross-functional security teams to identify and manage risks across areas to ensure safe integration of these AI technologies into business and cybersecurity workflows.
  • Translate technical AI/security considerations into clear program priorities, governance, metrics, and executive-level communications
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain operational rigor, governance, and business rhythms that enable consistent execution across the IAM, NetSec, and DatSec organizations.
  • Executive Communications: Develop executive presentations, dashboards, reports, and leadership communications that provide clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic Analysis: Develop analyses, business insights, and data-driven recommendations that support leadership decision-making, strategic planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Program Governance: Manage organizational KPIs, OKRs, scorecards, and action tracking to ensure transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate initiatives across Identity, Access, Network, Data Security, and enterprise partners to align priorities and drive successful outcomes.
  • Operational Planning & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance organizational effectiveness through continuous improvement.
  • Leadership Cadence: Coordinate leadership meetings, business reviews, all-hands, and strategic planning sessions, ensuring effective agendas, decision tracking, and follow-up.
  • Confidential information handling: Manage sensitive information with discretion and exercise strong judgment in communications and access control.
  • Colleague Engagement and Culture: Lead colleague engagement initiatives, recognize achievements, facilitate organizational communications, and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
