The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
At Travelers, our Cybersecurity Engineering teams are responsible for the overall implementation and management of strategic platforms that provide oversight, process management, protection and enablement of security control processes and allow for an effective Cybersecurity practice. As a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer, you will drive the technical and strategic direction of cybersecurity professionals who are responsible for the successful configuration, enhancement, automation, and implementation across multiple cybersecurity platforms. You are responsible for influencing leadership support and resources in order to create a strategy in alignment with cybersecurity's goals and objectives.What Will You Do?
  • Participate in the strategic planning and roadmap creation for the team.
  • Recommend purchases and/or licensed software products to identify and address security exposures.
  • Ensure all department projects are aligned to department goals.
  • Manage contract renewals and has budgetary responsibility across multiple projects.
  • Directly manage the operational support and maintenance of related platforms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Degree or certificate in Cybersecurity.
  • 9 years of experience in Information Technology Security Engineering or Software engineering.
  • Broad knowledge of Cloud computing and automation concepts.
  • Experience with system, network, and OS hardening techniques, and host/network access control mechanisms.
  • Expert knowledge of cybersecurity privacy principles, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and cyber defense and information security policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organization requirements such as confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation.
  • Ability to see the big picture and is fully aware of technology and business directions.
  • Advanced organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to consult on projects and present information effectively to all levels of the organization.
What is a Must Have?
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar degree, or its equivalent in work experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Information Technology Security Engineering or Software engineering.
  • 1 years of direct people management experience.
