Account Executive (Remote)

Defendify

Portland, ME • Remote

Full-time

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Assess needs. Demonstrate value. Earn business.

Defendify is looking for an experienced Account Executive to help organizations simplify cybersecurity and build stronger, more resilient security programs.

This is a consultative closing role for someone who can lead an effective sales process, from the first customer meeting through discovery, solution alignment, demonstration, negotiation, and close. You'll meet with IT leaders, security professionals, executives, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, uncover business impact, and show how Defendify can help.

You should have a practical understanding of the cybersecurity landscape and what common security products and services do. You do not need to be a sales engineer or a technical expert in every discipline. When conversations require greater depth, you'll be supported by Defendify cybersecurity experts, for example in areas like Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), penetration testing, vulnerability management, and security awareness.

Your role is to understand the customer, identify their pain points, connect Defendify's capabilities to meaningful business outcomes, bring in the right internal resources, and lead the opportunity to a successful close.

You won't be building alone. You'll work alongside an elite team of Account Executives, a dedicated Sales Development team that creates qualified meetings, and a Customer Success team committed to supporting every customer after the sale. You'll have the collaboration and resources to focus on what great Account Executives do best: solve meaningful customer problems and earn business.

Defendify has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies three years in a row and serves thousands of organizations worldwide. Our All-In-One Cybersecurity platform offers a differentiated alternative to a market crowded with disconnected point products, separate vendors, multiple contracts, and tools that were never designed to work together.

For an Account Executive, that means a compelling story to tell, a meaningful problem to solve, and multiple ways to begin and expand a customer relationship.

What You'll Sell

Defendify brings together 13 cybersecurity modules across three essential layers of protection; all within one platform.

Detection & Response helps customers prepare for and respond to cyber threats through 24/7 U.S.-based MDR, incident response planning, and threat alerts.

Policies & Training strengthens the human layer with phishing simulations, security awareness training, and acceptable-use policies that promote secure behaviors and reduce human risk.

Assessments & Testing identifies vulnerabilities and prioritizes improvements through security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability, compromised password, and website scanning.

Customers can adopt the combination of modules that fits their current needs and expand over time as their cybersecurity programs mature. Instead of coordinating numerous point products and vendors, they can manage multiple layers of cybersecurity through one scalable platform backed by real cybersecurity experts.

What You'll Own
  • Lead the complete sales process from discovery through demonstration, proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Build trusted relationships, uncover customer needs, and translate cybersecurity capabilities into clear business and risk-reduction value
  • Deliver tailored platform demonstrations and differentiate Defendify from fragmented point products and competing alternatives
  • Partner with SDRs and Defendify cybersecurity experts while managing stakeholders, next steps, pipeline, and forecast
  • Consistently achieve revenue targets and create a strong transition to Customer Success after the sale
What We're Looking For
  • At least three years of successful cybersecurity sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • A practical understanding of cybersecurity products and services, with the ability to communicate credibly with technical and executive buyers
  • Strong consultative discovery, demonstration, business-case development, negotiation, and closing skills
  • The ability to sell a multi-product platform and recognize when to bring specialized experts into the sales process
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Resilience, coachability, collaboration, and ownership of results
Why Account Executives Choose Defendify
  • A differentiated platform: Sell 13 modules across three essential security layers instead of one point product
  • Multiple ways to win: Address immediate priorities while creating opportunities to expand customer relationships over time
  • A proven growth company: Join an Inc. 5000 honoree recognized for three consecutive years
  • Qualified pipeline support: Partner with a dedicated SDR team focused on creating conversations and booking meetings
  • Specialized expertise: Bring cybersecurity experts into opportunities when deeper guidance is needed
  • A strong team around you: Work with accomplished Account Executives and a dedicated Customer Success organization
  • A meaningful mission: Help all organizations reduce risk and build stronger cybersecurity posture

We are especially interested in candidates who can spend meaningful time with us in Portland, Maine, though we are open to the right person regardless of location. Our headquarters are on the top floor of a building on Commercial Street in the heart of Portland's Old Port, overlooking Casco Bay. For someone who values in-person collaboration, it is an exceptional place to work, learn, and win with the team.

Cybersecurity buyers are overwhelmed by separate tools, services, vendors, and competing claims. As a Defendify Account Executive, you'll help customers make sense of that complexity and show them a more comprehensive path forward.

You won't simply sell another security tool. You'll help organizations strengthen cybersecurity across people, processes, and technology, with one platform and a team of experts behind it.
