Position Overview
Health care organizations continually face evolving cyberthreats. Cyberattacks come in many forms, from ransomware to theft of personal information. Our primary aim is to protect and preserve our capability for care by reducing our cybersecurity risk.
We are seeking a motivated savvy individual, with ability to communicate, strong technical capabilities with problem solving skills, team player and enthusiasm to learn in an inclusive and positive work environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity protection activities, and healthcare operations.
The cybersecurity interns report to the Cyber Protection team. The intern will have opportunities to interact with all Cyber Security teams to gain insight into protection, threat ops, and risk processes, as well as specialized security tools. Based on organizational needs and keeping into account candidate's interest and strengths, when possible, the cybersecurity intern will contribute to activities like the following:
• Collaborate with Cyber Security Protection engineers and stakeholders to enhance security tools, processes, and overall security posture.
• Support control hygiene and ongoing improvements of technical security controls to reduce organizational risk.
• Assist with end-user support activities, including refinement of standard operating procedures and coordination with the Service Desk.
• Participate in team and cross-IHT initiatives to gain broad exposure to cybersecurity operations and organizational processes.
• Build foundational cybersecurity knowledge through security awareness efforts, training, and research on emerging threats and technologies.
• Carry out assigned projects to completion, multitasking, and being readily able to cope with change.
• Accept assignments based on workload, priorities, needs, and the qualifications and competencies of self and other staff members.
• Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to company and employee information.
• Exposure and participation to different security activities, i.e., endpoint protection, access management, data protection, risk detection and resolution, vulnerabilities... based on organizational needs and keeping into account candidate's interest and strengths.

Preferred Qualifications
• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with a focus on Cybersecurity, Computer Science with an Emphasis in Cybersecurity, or a related technical field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Software development or scripting experience is a plus.
