Job description

Role: Epic Revenue Cycle Analyst/ Patient Benefits Analyst

Work Location: Hybrid in Jackson, MS (39211) (75% remote and 25% in person)

Overview:

  • This is not a traditional Epic Analyst or Billing Specialist role. It is a Revenue Cycle Business Analyst / Epic Revenue Cycle Analyst position focused on insurance verification, patient responsibility, revenue optimization, reporting, and process improvement.
  • The contractor will support the MS State Dept of Health's' Revenue Cycle department, which manages the financial side of healthcare from patient registration to insurance payment and final billing.
  • The person will analyse insurance coverage, improve collection processes, identify revenue loss, and collaborate with clinics and leadership to optimize reimbursement.

Position Description

  • Review coverage discovery for scheduled patient appointments to determine patient responsibility
  • Document coverage appropriately in Epic
  • Identify trends in coverage and point of service patient responsibility collections for each of the 88 clinic locations Recommend process changes that would optimize collection of patient responsibility related revenue and third-party payments
  • Communicate with clinical and operations leadership related to coverage discovery, patient responsibility, and revenue cycle related topics

Required Skills/Experience

  • Epic PB experience, certification preferred
  • RHIA/RHIT/CPC certified required
