Job description

Job Title: Adjunct Teaching - Electrical and Computer Engineering - Cybersecurity Capstone Instructor

Posting End Date:July 16, 2026

Position Start Date:September 2, 2026

Required Degree:

BS degree in engineering, cybersecurity, physics, computer science, or related field required. MS or PhD degree preferred.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

Demonstrated experience teaching in the field. Interest and passion in the design education process is required.

Duties/Expectations:

The goal is to help students learn the design and Capstone processes and successfully complete their assigned project I conjunction with other Capstone instructors. Duties will include:

  • Review and approve scope of new projects.
  • Provide advice on instructing Capstone students on software and cyber projects to other instructors. Adapt existing lecture materials.
  • Participate in weekly Capstone Council meetings.
  • Prepare and present Capstone lectures, participate weekly team meetings and Capstone faculty coach meetings.
  • Lead a pod of 6-14 Capstone teams working on cyber and/or software focused projects
  • Help mentor Capstone coaches assigned your pod.
  • Mentor and help coach individual teams and students in your pod.
  • Be available to provide advice to other Capstone teams.
  • Guide teams in selecting and applying a project structure, workflow, and processes that fits the nature of the project, technical requirements, deliverables, timeline, and sponsor expectations.
  • Learn and share Capstone policies.
  • Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with the project sponsor.
  • Help the teams maintain realistic project scope, timelines, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist students in understanding how general course requirements apply to their project
  • Help students learn important professional soft skills and how to work together as a team.
