Job description

Infrastructure Engineer

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infrastructure support, automation, deployment processes, and production troubleshooting. This role supports enterprise application environments, with a focus on JBoss EAP, Azure infrastructure, Windows-based systems, PowerShell automation, networking, security, and release support.

The Infrastructure Engineer will work closely with developers, system administrators, database administrators, security teams, and project stakeholders to ensure application environments are stable, secure, repeatable, and properly maintained.

Objectives of this role

·        Support and maintain enterprise application environments running on JBoss EAP

·        Manage and improve Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, subnets, NSGs, routing, storage, certificates, and related services

·        Build and maintain PowerShell automation for deployments, reporting, environment validation, and operational support

·        Improve development, deployment, and release processes through automation and repeatable procedures

·        Work with developers and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot application, deployment, networking, and environment issues

·        Help ensure environments are secure, reliable, and aligned with cybersecurity and operational requirements

·        Identify technical problems and develop practical fixes, scripts, procedures, or configuration updates

·        Assist with project planning, infrastructure planning, and implementation decisions

Responsibilities

·        Deploy application updates, patches, configuration changes, and environment fixes

·        Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for application and infrastructure issues

·        Manage and troubleshoot JBoss EAP environments, including deployments, configuration, logs, certificates, datasources, clustering, and startup issues

·        Support and maintain Azure-hosted infrastructure

·        Assist with Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, private endpoints, application gateways, DNS, and connectivity troubleshooting

·        Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, deployment support, reporting, validation, and operational tasks

·        Perform root cause analysis of production and non-production issues

·        Create and maintain troubleshooting guides, deployment procedures, and operational documentation

·        Work with developers and database teams to support application releases and environment changes

·        Review logs, configuration files, deployment results, and system behavior to identify and resolve issues

·        Help improve monitoring, alerting, reporting, and environment visibility

·        Support after-hours deployments, maintenance windows, and production issue resolution as needed

Required skills and qualifications

·        Experience in an infrastructure, application support, systems engineering, or similar technical role

·        Strong PowerShell scripting skills

·        Experience supporting Windows Server environments

·        Experience managing or supporting JBoss EAP or similar Java application server platforms

·        Experience with Azure infrastructure hosting

·        Working knowledge of Azure networking, including VNets, subnets, NSGs, routing, DNS, private endpoints, and connectivity troubleshooting

·        Working knowledge of database and SQL

·        Ability to troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, deployment, and networking issues

·        Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

·        Ability to create clear technical documentation and repeatable procedures

·        Ability to work collaboratively with developers, infrastructure teams, security teams, and project stakeholders

·        Ability to support a flexible work schedule, including occasional late-night or after-hours maintenance windows

Preferred skills and qualifications

·        Experience with JBoss EAP domain mode, standalone mode, clustering, deployments, datasources, SSL/TLS, and certificate management

·        Experience with Azure Government or regulated cloud environments

·        Experience with application gateways, load balancers, private endpoints, Key Vault, storage accounts, Log Analytics, and Azure monitoring tools

·        Experience with deployment automation and release coordination

·        Experience troubleshooting Java application deployments, EAR/WAR files, server logs, and connectivity issues

·        Familiarity with security requirements, change control, and production support processes

·        Experience building operational reports or infrastructure comparison tools using PowerShell
