Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee.  AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization, and an important national resource.

AEDC’s mission is to conduct developmental test and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, and ground and flight tests.  Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.

Job Summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Cybersecurity Engineer, supporting TOS II and Mission Information Systems functions, at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work to lead the end-to-end design and implementation of secure, scalable architectures that support vital warfighting functions. This professional integrates Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) across on-premise, hybrid, and tactical cloud environments, ensuring that every access request is verified regardless of its origin. By maintaining technical oversight of both legacy and modernized infrastructures, the architect provides a secure foundation for the deployment of advanced military applications and communication networks.

Job Duties:

  • Proven track record of designing architectures that span across NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS environments, including the implementation of approved Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS).
  • Assist in the processing/artifact gathers for Authority to Operate (ATO) packages for necessary initiatives as required.
  • Assist in architecting cybersecurity solutions/integration at AEDC
  • Capture and refine information security requirements and effectively integrate them into information systems through architecting, design and configuration management.
  • Employ best practices for implementing security requirements.
  • Help architect DevSecOps enterprise requirements and platform.
  • Ability to write automation scripts in Python, Go, or PowerShell to support automated security compliance checks and DevSecOps pipelines
  • Support or act as Information System Security Engineers and Information System Security Managers with enterprise initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various teams to understand and gather system artifacts for security compliance verification.
  • Maintain working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards and operational security measures.
  • Implement Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to monitor and validate system security.
  • Document the results of Assessment and Authorization activities and prepare and submit System Security Plans and the Plan of Actions and Milestones POA&Ms related to STIGs.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field.
  • Grade 08: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience related to IT systems. In lieu of a degree, an additional 3 years of experience may be substituted.
  • Grade 09: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience related to IT systems. In lieu of a degree, an additional 3 years of experience may be substituted.
  • Current U.S. Citizenship is required. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have and maintain DoD 8140 certification (CISSP, CISM, CISSO, GCIA, GCSA, GCIH, GSLC, GICSP, FITSP-M).
  • Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) or Information System Security Officer experience.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Software development experience
  • Currently working supporting SAP customers.
  • Prior experience in roles such as System or Network Administrator.
  • Knowledge of industry standard Information Assurance tools such as ACAS, NESSUS, SCAP, CornerBowl, SPLUNK.
  • RedHat Linux and OpenShift experience
  • Top Secret or Secret Clearance
